We will be handling all your major needs: transportation, food, lodging, equipment, etc...
Things you need to bring: Here are some things that we feel will things a little more comfortable for your adventure.
Passport: You will need to have it to enter and leave the United States. You should make a photo copy and use it while in Costa Rica (if needed). Travel Insurance: You probably won’t need it, but it’s always better to have it. Sunscreen: A Sun Protection Factor of at least 40-SPF depending on your skin type, and the amount of tan you have before your trip. The sun is strong and it’s easy to burn, so be prepared.
Rashguard: It’s your choice as to what brand. Name brands are more expensive than private label ones. A long sleeve version will help greatly from the day’s bright sun.
Beach Towel: Bring some to dry off after surfing and swimming. Bring a couple just to be on the safe side Bug Spray/Repellent: Cutter or Deep Woods Off in the 3 oz size, especially if you plan to carry it on the plane instead of placing it in checked baggage.
Flip Flops: A customary item on all surf trips. We have a no shoes policy for beach life. Definitely a sturdy pair, try and stay away from cheap flimsy types (you feet will really appreciate that).
International Calling Card: For making calls back home to tell people what a great time you’re having and the killer waves you’ve caught.
Hat and Sunglasses: Theses are two things that you never want to be without in the bright sun. The dry season is very sunny, like everyday.
Hiking Boots: For those who want to roam around in the jungle terrain and check out the flora and fauna, or partake in other activities that are available while in Costa Rica.
Camera: Digital or a disposable type to capture the scenery of your Costa Rica adventure. You’ll never know what you’ll see. Flashlight: It’s always best just in case. Costa is know for blackouts on occasion. Also bring replacement batteries Light clothing: Costa Rica is a very tropical place, only 11 degrees north latitude. Light clothing will keep you cooler.
Cash: You will need some walking around money for your trip. We will help you with the breakdown on the money exchange rate. Also bring a small calculator to make sure you’ve gotten the correct change. Places of business will accept American money, but you’ll receive Costa Rica Colones in return for change.
Toilet Paper: Oh yes, you want to bring your favorite brand of wipe. One roll should do the trick.
Backpack: If you are not going to bring a suitcase, this is a great way to travel light. Do remember, you are not allowed to carry any liquids that are more than 3 fluid ounces. Anything over that will be taken by the TSA.
Small suitcase: If you plan to bring home trinkets, alcohol, coffee, ect.. You’ll want to have a checked bag to eliminate confiscation of your booty. I always take a small case for just that reason, because there are a lot of great things that you’ll want to bring to friends and family.
Medications: Only bring prescribed medications with you. It’s recommended to keep them in a zip lock bag for freshness. Please do not try and bring any illegal drugs in and out of Costa Rica. Jail sucks no matter what country you are in.
Toiletries: Bring the stuff that you use at home, but keep liquids at 3 oz or less. You can pick up travel size containers at your local Walmart or store like that, if your traveling only with carry on luggage. Checked bag, you can bring larger sizes of liquids. It is recommended that you place liquids in zip lock bags in case of breakage or leakage.
